On June 26 in Minsk, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, chairman of the EEC Board, took part in a meeting of the Advisory Council on Cooperation between the EEC and the EAEU Business Council on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Forum.
"The Commission's efforts as a whole aim to encourage the entrepreneurs in our countries to maximize the integration potential of the Eurasian Economic Union", Sagintayev said as he welcomed the participants. "We are interested in further expanding our cooperation with the business community."
The EEC Board chairman emphasized that the EAEU has built a solid regulatory and legal framework, with long-term priorities defined across various economic sectors to ensure a favorable business environment.
He said the mechanisms for engagement with businesses, developed jointly by the Commission and the Union's member states, including the Advisory Council, help ensure that their interests are fully taken into account.
"The establishment of the Advisory Council has enabled a new format of communication with entrepreneurs through a single window approach", Sagintayev said. "Today, our dialogue allows us to respond promptly to business requests. Largely thanks to this, the Union adopts and incorporates into regulations more than 60% of business initiatives each year."
Participants of the meeting discussed pressing issues of Eurasian economic integration, such as raising business awareness of EAEU industrial policy tools and improving the protection of entrepreneurs' rights.
The Advisory Council's goal is to ensure an efficient dialogue between the Commission and the EAEU Business Council in identifying avenues and prospects for promoting entrepreneurship within the EEC's areas of competence.
