EEC and Cuba plan to hold joint events on Eurasian Economic Forum's sidelines
The parties agreed that the business dialogue agenda should be devoted to discussing some mechanisms for deepening trade and economic cooperation between the EAEU countries and Cuba.
The EEC representative proposed to use the EEF platform opportunities to hold working meetings with government agencies and business community of the Union countries and Cuba.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba supported this initiative and informed that in addition to the country's official representatives, a business delegation from the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba is being formed to participate in the visit, which is interested in establishing direct contacts with the EAEU Member States' business circles.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue constructive dialogue on other issues of cooperation of mutual interest.
The EAEU and Cuba develop sectoral interaction within the Memorandum of Understanding between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Government of the Republic of Cuba dated May 31, 2018 and the Joint Action Plan for 2021-2025.
In 2020, the Republic of Cuba received the Observer State status at the EAEU. Julio Antonio Garmendia Peña, Ambassador of Cuba to the Russian Federation, has been appointed by the Government of the Republic of Cuba as the country's permanent representative to the EEC.
