The roundtable featured Gohar Barseghyan, the Eurasian Economic Commission's minister for industry and the agro-industrial complex.
The event attracted the leaders of government agencies and organizations, as well as representatives of the academic community responsible for the development of nuclear technology in the EAEU and Uzbekistan.
Gohar Barseghyan called for greater use of the Commission's existing tools to promote industrial cooperation, such as the Eurasian Technological Platforms and the financial support mechanism for industrial collaboration.
"The creation of the Eurasian Technological Platform in the field of nuclear and radiation engineering will provide an additional incentive to develop cooperation among key industry organizations and will help consolidate the interests of EAEU government agencies, businesses, and the academic community", she said.
The roundtable participants discussed the key competencies and achievements of EAEU member states and the observer Uzbekistan in the field of nuclear medicine and the development of industrial nuclear technology. The participants discussed a wide range of issues, including innovative manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals and several joint initiatives in the nuclear field, such as the Russia-Kyrgyzstan project to establish a nuclear medicine center in Kyrgyzstan.
The Russian state corporation Rosatom presented its project to build the MBIR multipurpose research reactor, seen as playing a key role in advancing scientific cooperation among EAEU member states.
The participants expressed the intention to strengthen their supranational economic and research dialogue, to raise the standard of applied joint projects in nuclear technology, and to exchange innovative designs ranging from medicine to nuclear power plant equipment.
