Andrey Slepnev and Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali discussed current issues of trade and economic cooperation and preparations for Eurasian Economic Forum's events
On August 28, Andrey Slepnev, Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a working meeting with Kazem Jalali, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation, to discuss the preparation of the EAEU — Iran Business Dialogue scheduled for October 1 at the Eurasian Economic Forum 2024 in Yerevan.
The two sides expressed confidence that the Business Dialogue will become one of the Forum's key events and will help reveal opportunities for deepening trade and economic ties between business entities of the Union countries and Iranian companies in light of the new Free Trade Agreement between the EAEU and Iran.
“Our business community is particularly interested in cooperation with partners in logistics, infrastructure, as well as issues of trade facilitation to streamline trade procedures and make it easier for businesses to make payments,” emphasized Andrey Slepnev.In addition, the meeting participants exchanged information on the progress of ratification of the full-scale free trade agreement and plans for developing cooperation between the EEC and Iran in the current and next year.
The 3rd Eurasian Economic Forum will be held from September 30 to October 1, 2024 in Yerevan (the Republic of Armenia).
