On June 26 in Minsk, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held talks with Kairat Sarybay, executive director of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Forum, focused on furthering the dialogue between the EEC and CICA, particularly regarding the development of an action plan for implementing the Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations.
"The plan will encompass all promising areas of our joint activities, reflecting our shared interests", Sagintayev said.
He also proposed placing special emphasis on advancing joint initiatives in the region.
The EAEU-CICA is becoming increasingly relevant in light of ongoing global economic developments.
As a result of the meeting, both parties agreed to maintain regular working contacts to foster ties.
The Memorandum of Understanding between the EEC and the CICA Secretariat was signed in 2022.
