On 29 May in Astana, on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Forum 2026, the 17th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State (National) Standardization Bodies of EAEU member states will take place.
In 2026, the Republic of Kazakhstan holds the chairmanship of the Council. The Council is chaired by Zhanna Yessenbekova, Chair of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The meeting is expected to consider systemic issues related to the development of standardization, as well as priority areas of work on standardization within the Union.
The Council of Heads of State (National) Standardization Bodies of the Union’s member states is an auxiliary body of the Union aimed at advancing standardization in the field of technical regulation. It contributes to the removal of barriers in the Union’s internal market and supports standardization bodies in developing coordinated approaches.
