At the roundtable “Eurasian Energy Integration: Strategic Direction,” with the participation of Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the following issues will be discussed:

the architecture of energy security in the EAEU, taking into account the development of energy markets, including ensuring stable energy supply and safeguarding the Union’s economy against external challenges;

the architecture of exchange-based trading in energy resources, including the formation of a unified Eurasian price benchmark, as well as the harmonization of trading rules, clearing systems, and collateral mechanisms;

price convergence for energy resources;

the development of low-carbon energy generation in the EAEU, including the role of renewables, nuclear energy, and hydrogen in the Union’s green energy transition;
-
enhancing digitalization and digital transformation of the fuel and energy sectors of EAEU member states, taking into account the expanding capabilities of artificial intelligence, including in the preparation of forecast balances, analysis of power system performance data, metering systems, and other areas;

the development of common approaches to data exchange in energy trade and the establishment of electronic document management systems using national information security tools, as well as the prospects for creating supranational digital platforms for the exchange of electronic documents and data in energy markets;
-
achieving a balance between national requirements for the storage and processing of energy data and the need for its free cross-border exchange to support forecasting algorithms and real-time trading on exchanges.
Within the panel session, heads of government authorities of EAEU member states and trading platforms designated as operators of centralized trading in the Union’s common electricity market will take part. Following the session, a memorandum of cooperation is planned to be signed between “Kazakhstan Electricity and Power Market Operator” JSC, “St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange” JSC, and “Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange” OJSC.
