Representatives of organizations of industrialists and entrepreneurs from countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will take part in the events of the second Eurasian Economic Forum that focus on intensifying cooperation between the business communities of the association’s member states. The Forum will be held on 24–25 May in Moscow and is timed to coincide with the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which will be attended by the heads of EAEU countries and observer states. The Roscongress Foundation is organizing the Forum events.
The EAEU Business Council will hold two events as part of the EAEF 2023. The session ‘Business as a Driver of Eurasian Economic Integration: Challenges and Prospects’ will serve as a platform to discuss ways to reduce risks and eliminate problems for cross-border business activities within the association, simplify internal regulation to further develop Eurasian integration, and also promote entrepreneurial activity within the Union. In addition, the session participants will discuss prioritized liberalization as a condition for sustainable economic growth, opportunities for the recovery and growth of certain industries and sectors of the economy, and the elimination of national protectionism.
The session is expected to be attended by Sergey Krasilnikov, vice president of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs; Armen Nersisyan, director of the company Credit Partner and a member of the Audit Commission of the Armenian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs; Anatoly Kharlap, chairman of the Belarusian Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Employers) Union of Non-Commercial Organizations; Raimbek Batalov, chairman of the board of directors of Raimbek Group and chairman of the presidium of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan; Danil Ibrayev, president of the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs; Bakytzhan Sagintayev, member of the board (minister) for economics and financial policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission; and Anna Joubin-Bret, secretary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and director of the Department of International Trade Law Division of the UN Office of Legal Affairs. The discussion will be moderated by Sergey Mikhnevich, managing director for international multilateral cooperation and integration of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
In addition, the EAEF 2023 will include a presidium meeting of the Business Council of the Eurasian Economic Union, a permanent coordinating and advisory body of business communities that brings together the largest business associations of EAEU states. The meeting participants will discuss key issues concerning Eurasian integration, including the priorities of Russia’s chairmanship of the EAEU in 2023, as well as the crucial tasks of the Eurasian business community.
The second Eurasian Economic Forum and the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council are being held as part of Russia’s chairmanship of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2023. The Forum aims to improve cooperative ties in the Eurasian space. The EAEF 2023 events will be held under the motto ‘Eurasian Integration in a Multipolar World’ and will include around 35 business sessions, which will be divided into seven thematic focuses, including: ‘Human Capital’, ‘Technology and Cooperation’, ‘The EAEU in a Changing World’, ‘Eurasian Collectiveness’, and ‘EAEU Internal Market: Cooperation in Customs, Competition, and State Procurement’. The ‘Strategic Section’ will feature a discussion of the EAEU Strategy 2030+.
In addition, events on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Forum will include the Green Eurasia International Climate Competition, a business breakfast of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to discuss new opportunities for developing international cooperation in Eurasia, and a business breakfast of the EAEU-Indonesia business dialogue. There will also be business dialogues dedicated to cooperation with Indonesia and Latin American countries as part of the Eurasian integration format.
