Goar Barsegyan, Minister for Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a working meeting with Fatou Haidara, Deputy Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), on the sidelines of the V Eurasian Economic Forum in Astana.
The parties discussed a broad range of issues related to deepening cooperation between the EEC and UNIDO, including the prospects for implementing the Joint Declaration signed in November 2025 in Riyadh, as well as UNIDO's experience working in the Eurasian Economic Union member states. Particular emphasis was placed on key areas of collaboration such as the digital transformation of industry and the application of artificial intelligence in the industrial sector.
"The Eurasian Economic Commission attaches great importance to its dialogue with UNIDO. We highly value the organisation's significant contribution as a leading global institution advancing inclusive and sustainable industrial development policy," said Goar Barsegyan.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop an action plan for the implementation of the Joint Declaration and to continue advancing concrete joint initiatives.
