Against a backdrop of evolving trade flows and global digitalization, coordinated efforts by the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Eurasian Economic Union member states are crucial for enhancing customs administration, implementing breakthrough technology, upgrading border crossing points, and developing transit potential. In addition to expediting customs procedures, this will foster the further development of the EAEU's foreign trade ties and boost the Union's investment appeal.
These and other key aspects of customs cooperation will be the subject of discussion at the 4th Eurasian Economic Forum, which will take place on June 26–27 in Minsk.
EEF 2025 will feature three key customs-related events: a panel session on innovations in customs regulation, and roundtables on the digital transformation of customs authorities and the development of border crossing points as a foundation for expanding the union's transit potential.
The events will be moderated by EEC Customs Cooperation Minister Ruslan Davydov. Attendees will include representatives from EAEU government bodies, businesses, international organizations, digital economy experts, and IT sector professionals.
Panel Session: Integration Processes in the Field of Customs Regulation: Innovations and Economic Benefits
This panel session will address a range of pressing issues concerning the advancement of integration processes in EAEU customs regulation, the implementation of advanced digital technology in customs operations, and the formation of a common transport and logistics space with unified approaches to administration and law enforcement.
Discussions will aim to assess the current state of customs integration processes and their role in establishing a single market for goods, ensuring equitable business conditions, and facilitating trade development. The session will also summarize integration outcomes and outline future steps for the successful development of the Union and the achievement of its founding goals.
Roundtable: Development of Checkpoints on the Customs Border of the Eurasian Economic Union as a Basis for Expanding the Union's Transit Potential
This discussion will facilitate sharing of experience on developing border crossing points along the EAEU's external perimeter, particularly in the context of expanding trade and economic ties, and strengthening the EAEU's position on the international stage. Participants will also discuss a range of issues related to the development of unified standard requirements for equipment and technical resources at border crossing points, which will help harmonize approaches and enhance the efficiency of government control agencies at the border.
Roundtable: Digital Transformation of Customs Authorities in the Eurasian Economic Union
Participation in this roundtable will provide an opportunity to gain up-to-date information on the current status and prospects of digital transformation within the Union's customs authorities. Discussions will cover key challenges and aim to develop joint solutions for the development and integration of information systems across EAEU member state customs authorities, the application of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, and the creation of a modern and reliable IT infrastructure to streamline customs procedures and reduce cross-border transit times for goods.
