On June 26, the 4th Eurasian Economic Forum in Minsk will host two sessions focused on furthering integration in transportation.
The Sustainable Transport in the Eurasian Region: Mobility, Multimodality and Digitalization session, to be attended by EEC Energy and Infrastructure Minister Arzybek Kozhoshev, will discuss the following:
- Regional initiatives to maintain sustainable transportation links, territorial connectivity, and mobility;
- Opportunities for aligning integration processes in transportation within the partnership frameworks of the EAEU, CIS, SCO, UNESCAP, and UNECE;
- Mechanisms for regional and interregional cooperation in the development of international transportation corridors;
- Opportunities for implementing joint infrastructure projects;
- Multiplier effect resulting from the growth in multimodal and container freight transportation;
- Continued growth of freight containerization in the EAEU;
- New paradigm for international transportation development in the context of macroeconomic changes.
The panel session (9:00–10:30 AM, Hall 5, level 2) will feature the participation of the leaders of government agencies of EAEU member states, international organizations, and international development institutions.
Participants of the panel session, Introduction of Digital Solutions in EAEU Transport: Paperless Technologies, Automated and Unmanned Vehicles, will share their experiences advancing key trends in the digital agenda, such as the following:
- Digital transformation and advancement of paperless technology;
- Intelligent transportation systems;
- Autonomous vehicles;
- Automated vehicles;
- Implementing digital solutions in EAEU transportation, as illustrated by the use of electronic consignment notes (e-CMRs) for international freight transportation.
Self-driving trucks are already a reality, helping make logistics more efficient and lowering the risk of accidents. With each passing day, we are seeing more new concepts, ready-to-use autonomous vehicles, and innovative services. Artificial intelligence is being increasingly integrated into transportation processes, and it is supporting the operation of modern infrastructure. All of these innovations are making our lives much safer and more comfortable.
During the panel session (1:00–2:30 PM, Hall 5, level 2), representatives of government agencies, international organizations, development institutions, and the academic and expert communities will discuss these issues along with current trends in the digitalization of transportation.
