On September 30, in Yerevan, as part of the Eurasian Economic Forum, the Competition and Anti-monopoly Regulation Unit of the Eurasian Economic Commission will hold a thematic session on the topic, “Law Enforcement Practices and Development Directions for

Current problems and challenges faced by the national jurisdictions of Eurasian
Economic Union (EAEU) member states in the field of competition are increasingly
impacting cross-border markets. In the year marking the 10th anniversary of the
signing of the Treaty on the EAEU, it is fitting to evaluate the effectiveness of
existing mechanisms and explore future directions for the Eurasian Economic
Commission’s (EEC) efforts to ensure equal competitive conditions in cross-border
    markets.

The thematic session will address issues related to marketplace operations through
the lens of antitrust regulation in cross-border markets. The legal positions of the
EAEU Court on cases concerning competition will also be a key focus.

Participants will discuss ways to enhance the mechanisms of cooperation between
national competition authorities and the EEC, particularly in handling applications
related to violations of general competition rules in cross-border markets and in
conducting proactive investigations. Special attention will be given to the existence
of “gray zones” where preventive measures by national competition authorities and
the EEC are limited, despite the presence of negative effects on competition in
    EAEU markets.

The session will also address the exchange of information between national
authorities on monitoring compliance with general competition rules, including in
cases involving companies from third countries.

Maxim Yermolovich, Minister for Competition and Anti-monopoly Regulation of
the EEC, will be the session’s keynote speaker. The session will be moderated by
Konstantin Begidzhanov, Deputy Director of the EEC Department of Antimonopoly
Regulation, with invited speakers from the leadership of national competition
authorities of EAEU member states, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the EAEU
    Court.

This session will be held in a live discussion format, allowing participants to pose
questions to the speakers, fostering greater collaboration and cooperation in the field
    of competition.

The event will take place on September 30, 2024 (time 9:00-10:30), in Hall #4
(4th floor), Dvin Hotel (Seven Visions Resort and Places, the Dvin), Yerevan,
    Paronyan Street 40.
