Participants in the ‘A Eurasia of Regions’ session at the Eurasian Economic Forum (EAEF), which will take place in Moscow on 24–25 May, will discuss the investment potential of Eurasia’s regions, the modern education and healthcare system, as well as a comfortable urban environment and sustainable regional development. The Roscongress Foundation is organizing the event.
Interregional cooperation plays a special role in the current situation. Close economic relations among the regions of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) nations provide a foundation for the implementation of promising interregional projects and help to intensify industrial, scientific, and technical ties and solve problems related to improving the quality and standard of living in EAEU states.
The discussion will be attended by Kemerovo Region and Kuzbass Governor Sergey Tsivilev, Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra Governor Natalya Komarova, Governor of Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province Karen Sargsyan, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Kyrgyz President in the Chuy Region Kanat Dzhumagaziyev, St. Petersburg Deputy Governor Valery Moskalenko, Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Chairman Alexander Subbotin, and Director of the Representative Office of the Kaliningrad Region Government in the Russian Government Denis Saliy.
The session will be moderated by Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach and Eurasian Economic Commission Chairman of the Board Mikhail Myasnikovich.
The second Eurasian Economic Forum is being held as part of Russia’s chairmanship of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2023. The Forum aims to improve cooperative ties in the Eurasian space. The EAEF programme will include around 35 business sessions, which will be divided into seven thematic focuses, including: ‘Human Capital’, ‘Technology and Cooperation’, ‘The EAEU in a Changing World’, ‘Eurasian Collectiveness’, ‘EAEU Internal Market: Cooperation in Customs, Competition, and State Procurement’, ‘Strategic Section’, and the EAEU Business Council section.
In addition, the EAEF will feature a recap of the first Green Eurasia climate project competition, which aims to find effective practices for adapting to and mitigating the effects of climate change, as well as other climate practices that aim to ensure the sustainable development of Eurasian Economic Union nations.
