On June 26, the 4th Eurasian Economic Forum in Minsk will host two thematic sessions focusing on product safety and quality within the Eurasian Economic Union markets.
The panel session, Safety of EAEU Food Products as a Guarantee of Public Welfare: Comprehensive Regulation, Approaches and Priorities,
(9–10:30 AM, Hall 6, first floor), to be attended by EEC Technical Regulation Minister Valentin Tataritsky, will discuss the following topics:
- Today's regulatory approaches to sanitary, veterinary, and phytosanitary controls;
- International practices and standards;
- One Health as a platform for interagency cooperation;
- Synergy between EAEU members and international organizations in building a unified food safety system.
The session will address coordination among EAEU authorized bodies to ensure a unified food safety space that is capable of responding to contemporary challenges and incorporates international best practices and regional priorities.
Participants will include the heads of authorized bodies in sanitary, veterinary-sanitary, and quarantine phytosanitary measures from all EAEU countries, and representatives from research institutions and international organizations, such as the World Organization for Animal Health Regional Representation for Europe, the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization, and the World Health Organization Regional Office.
The panel session, Eurasian Integration in the Field of Technical Regulation: from Strategy 2025 to Declaration 2030, 10:50 AM–12:20 PM, Hall 5, second floor), to be attended by EEC Technical Regulation Minister Valentin Tataritsky, will discuss the following topics:
- Innovations in EAEU technical legislation;
- Developing a mechanism for establishing and updating mandatory product requirements within the EAEU;
- Standardization within the Union as a primary tool for implementing EAEU technical regulations;
- Product safety digital ecosystem: its role and place in the Union's digital agenda, platform solutions and technologies, and economic prospects;
- Product safety in e-commerce;
- Progress in technical regulation under Strategy 2025 and the Declaration on Further Development of Economic Processes within the EAEU until 2030 and for the Period until 2045;
- Elimination of technical barriers to trade with third countries.
The session will include representatives from authorized bodies, and research and business communities in EAEU member states. Speakers will include Elena Morgunova, head of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus; Anton Shalaev, head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology; and Anatoly Kharlap, head of the Republican association of industrial enterprises "BelAPP" and head of the EAEU Business Council.
